Flint Castle  located in Flint, Flintshire, North Wales was the first of a series of castles built during King Edward I’s campaign to conquer Wales. The site was chosen for its strategic position in North East Wales. The castle was only one day’s march from Chester, supplies could be brought along the river Dee. To the left of the Castle there is a very short nice circular walk which leads to  seats that overlook the Castle and the river Dee. The Welsh coastal path can also be joined from this same path if you wish to continue along the river dee for a while longer.
