Walk in North Wales. The Nantlle Ridge.

What a fantastic days walking of the ‘Nantlle Ridge’ in Snowdonia National Park ,North wales on the 14/7/2016. We started our walk from the privately owned car park near the Village of Nantlle and walked the track towards ‘Llynnau Cwm Silyn (Cwm Silyn Lakes).Up and onward to the top of Craig Cwm Sylyn (Cwm Silyn Rock-734m). We ascended Cwm Silyn and headed towards ‘Mynydd Tal Y Mignedd’ (The mountain of the high bog /quagmire 653m) where there is a stone obelisk built by local quarry men to celebrate Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee. (1897). As the clouds had cleared the views of Cwm Dwyfor and the surrounding area were breathtaking. We continued to Trum y Ddysgl (‘Ridge of the Dish-709m)and onwards to Mynydd ‘Drws-y-Coed’.(Door to the Wood Mountain-695) where we carefully negotiated craggy decent to then ascend again to Y Garn (The Hilt) where we were afforded splendid views of Snowdon, Lliwedd and ‘Yr Aran’. A seven 7 hour walk on a sunny afternoon.
